from the local grocery store bakery will work fine Slice the baguette thin on the bias using a serrated bread knife to get the classic bruschetta shape. Place the slices on a cookie sheet and toast in the oven. Some recipes ask you to put olive oil and garlic on the slices, but I like to toast mine dry.
