SPECIAL DEMOS

Commanding General's Mounted Color Guard

For over 30 years the Commanding General’s Mounted Color Guard has repre sented the 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, and the United States Army. Commanded by CPT Jack Chmelik and 1SG Roy Walters; their NCO’s and Troopers carry the flags with the true knowledge of the costs and the pride for which they fly. Established in 1992, the Commanding General's Mounted Color Guard provides a link to Fort Riley's historic past. These active duty soldiers carry on his tory daily as their boots walk the cobblestone floor of their 1889 cavalry stables or in the stirrups upon a U.S. Army branded horse.

From Ignoration Parades to the arena at Cheyenne Frontier Days, they travel the Nation meeting the great Americans they ride for. They are both professional and personable, so extend a hand and get to know. It’s the relationships they make along the trail that remind them why they joined in the first place. Duty First!
