until they are comfortable with dragging them. With each step you’re are introducing them to, remember to also concentrate on whoa and standing patiently as this is very important. I can’t stress enough to be patient and complete each step as your mini is truly ready to move on. Remember, sometimes this ground work gets monotonous, but believe me, it will lead to a mini that is a pleasure to drive. The reward of driving them is worth this time. that they are hanging in since the tugs are not hooked at this time for safety reasons. The reason I do this is because if they become spooked and bolt, you can step to the side and the cart will come loose, freeing the mini from the cart. Each step in the training process depends on how your mini accepts that step in the training. Keep them at that step until they are comfortable. Some mini’s take the cart in stride while others do not. If you feel they are not completely handling this step, take the cart away and go back to dragging the poles in our previous stage
