See The World Through My Eyes
Cracker Jack, a four-year- old Cee Booger Red bred gelding, was purchased by the Abernathy family in 2003. Hardly broke, Brad started riding and roping on him. Even though he was a goofy horse that didn’t pay a lot of attention, Cracker came along quickly. He heeled on him for about a year. Brad owns a great heading
horse by the name of Gizmo. With his wife Kandy on his heading horse and him on Cracker, the team won 3rd in a 10 Head Open Team Roping! This horse is amazing! The next winter, Kandy needed a breakaway horse, so Brad got busy. Cracker Jack is lazy, but just like on the heeling side, Cracker Jack really came on. In
doing so well at his new job, he helped their young daughter Jacey and Kandy both make the Missouri Rodeo Cowboy Association and the United Rodeo Association finals in breakaway for several years. Kacey made her first finals when she was just in the 7th grade! JC and Cracker also made the Junior High School National Finals in Goat tying that same year. Kandy’s love is the breakaway roping. In 2008 Kandy had to have surgery on her arm. She continued to have trouble swinging her rope for 7 years following and did not rope at all. The time came for daughter Jacey to head off to college at NEO (Northeast Oklahoma) and Cracker went too. After a season of hard work, they finished their year Top 10 in the Region in breakaway, what a great horse! In 2014, Cracker developed a little spot in his right eye. But like we said before, this horse is lazy and kind of a goofy guy, he doesn’t pay a lot of attention
